Established in 2005, The Southland Swim Association (SSA) is a Non-Profit 501(c) 3 Corporation based in Overland Park, Kansas. The mission of the SSA is to provide an organized swim league for summer recreational swimmers. The summer recreational season spans the six weeks from the first week in June to mid-July.
With over 1000 swimmers, ages ranging from 5-18 years old, the SSA consists of a combination of neighborhood and private club swim teams including the neighborhoods of Deer Creek, LionsGate, Mills Farm, Nottingham by the Green, Nottingham Forest South, and Wilshire Farms along with Loch Lloyd Country Club and Nicklaus Golf Club. All team locations are within a 15 minute drive of one another!
The SSA ensures fun and friendly Dual and Championship competitions while promoting physical fitness, safety, and fairness, with an emphasis on the personal development of each individual swimmer. The season includes five weeks of Dual competitions held every Wednesday evening and capped off with a Championship competition for all member teams.
